We have 9 rallies per year and they are most often held on the 1st Sunday of the month. Please check the calendar carefully for the dates.
Rallies consist of formal tuition in riding and caring for your horse. We have flatwork, show jumping, games, cross country and theory. Riders are grouped according to their riding ability and work through a syllabus closely associated with the certificates that are awarded to riders that achieve the standards set out. All these details can be found on the certificates page.
Rallies begin at 8.00am with an un mounted meeting and then riders are expected to present for gear check at 8.30am sharp. It is expected that riders and parents assist with the setup of equipment from 8.15am. There are normally 3 sessions in the morning and then a break for lunch, then 3 sessions in the afternoon. Riding is usually complete by 3pm but riders and parents are again expected to help clear away equipment that has been used during the day. It is a team effort.
If you are not able to attend the next rally it is courtesy to let the Coach Coordinator know as there is a lot of planning that goes into each rally.
At the end of the year trophies are presented in each group for Best Presented and Horsemanship and also rally attendance. There are also some committee based awards. All details of these awards can be found in our handbook.
